Board of Directors

The Nebraska Cannabis Trade Alliance is governed by a multidisciplinary Board of Directors that reflects Nebraska’s values and the responsible development of a medical cannabis program.

The Board is intentionally structured to balance industry expertise with healthcare, agriculture, and regulatory insight. It includes licensed cannabis operators representing different segments of the industry, alongside healthcare and public-health professionals, agricultural and rural Nebraska voices, and legal and compliance experts. Independent at-large directors provide additional perspective and reinforce the Alliance’s commitment to transparency and good governance.

This diverse composition ensures the Alliance advances policies that prioritize patient safety, regulatory compliance, agricultural alignment, and economic responsibility, while maintaining independence and public trust.

The Board operates under formal conflict-of-interest and ethics policies to ensure decisions are made in the best interest of Nebraska patients, communities, and the state as a whole.

Board Membership Philosophy

The Nebraska Cannabis Trade Alliance believes that leadership of Nebraska’s medical cannabis industry should be grounded in local accountability, healthcare integrity, and community trust.

To that end, the Alliance maintains a clear distinction between voting Board membership and non-voting advisory participation.

Voting Board Members

Voting members of the Board of Directors are limited to individuals who:

  • Are Nebraska residents or have a primary professional presence in Nebraska

  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to Nebraska’s medical cannabis program

  • Bring relevant experience in healthcare, agriculture, compliance, business, or patient advocacy

  • Are directly accountable to Nebraska communities and stakeholders

This structure ensures that decisions are made by those who live, work, and are invested in Nebraska’s long-term success.

Non-Voting Advisors

The Alliance values national and out-of-state expertise and welcomes such perspectives through:

  • Advisory councils

  • Technical or policy working groups

  • Educational and research collaborations

Advisors may include subject-matter experts, researchers, or industry professionals from outside Nebraska, but they do not hold voting authority over the Alliance’s governance or policy positions.
